2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Brazil Beat Peru To Extend Lead To Four Points As Argentina Bounce With Colombia Win‎



5-time champions have opened a four-point‎ lead at the top of the South American section of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers following their 2-0 away win over Peru in Lima.

In-form Gabriel Jesus scored the opener in the 58th minute before midfielder Renato Augusto made sure of the points twelve minutes from time as Brazil made it six successive wins during the qualifiers.

Brazil's rivals Argentina got back to winning ways after the 3-0 loss to the Selecao on Thursday with a convincing 3-0 win over Colombia that was inspired by reigning world player of the year and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Messi gave the home side a strong start as early as the 10th minute with a sumptuous freekick before he turned provider for Argentina's other goals scored by Lucas Pratto and Angel Di Maria either side of halftime‎.
