In-form Ideye Backs Ighalo To Rediscover Form



Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has backed Watford FC of England and Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo to rediscover his scoring touch in front of goal.

Ighalo has scored just one league goal this season and that is in stark comparison to the 15 league goals he scored last season prompting his loss of a starting berth at Watford.

On his Super Eagles teammate, Ideye said: "Yes, it’s true that Odion is not scoring goals now, but you remember last season he was one of the best scorers around."

"He is a good player with good knowledge of the game and I believe he will soon bounce back and start getting the goals again." the leading marksman in the Greek Super League further added.

Five Super Falcons Star Makes AWCON 2016 All-Star Team



Five Super Falcon players namely Asisat Oshoala, Osinachi Ohale, Desire Oparanozie, goalkeeper Alaba Jonathan and ‎Francesca Ordega have been named on the lost of the All-Star team for the 2016 edition of African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).

Nigeria Want To Face Senegal, Cote D'Ivoire Next Year, NFF President Pinnick Confirms‎



Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick has stated that they are planning a friendly against the Lions of Senegal and Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire due to the similar playing style with 2018 FIFA World Cup opponents, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

Speaking on the team's preparations ahead of the games, NFF President ‎Amaju Pinnick said: "Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal are teams who play like Cameroon, and we are priming for our next (World Cup) game against Cameroon."

"These friendlies are not yet confirmed but they are at an advanced stage of being finalised." he further stated.

The 'potential' games against West African foes Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire could be played in the FIFA-friendly window in March in London ahead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria's double header clash with Cameroon.

Agent Denies Osimhen Serious Injury Rumours‎



The representative of former Golden Eaglets star Victor Osimhen, Ariyo Igbayilola, has dismissed rumours that the player suffered a serious injury with his German clubside VFL Wolfsburg ad‎ding that he is not injured but the player is being rested after playing a series of friendlies for the team with which he will sign a professional contract in January 2017.

On his client, Ariyo said: "No, there is nothing wrong with Victor whatsoever. He is fine and ready to go."

"He has played as many as four friendly matches for Wolfsburg and they in their wisdom have thought it wise to rest the boy.

"He will soon be back in Nigeria to work on his papers." he concluded.

Osimhen, who was the record top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile will clock 18 next month and is expected to sign a professional contract with Wolfsburg in January 2017, was linked several top European clubs including Arsenal and Anderlecht before he made his choice.

Eagles Legend ‎Kanu Nwankwo Loses Mum



Former Super Eagles captain Kanu Nwankwo has lost his mother, Mrs Sussan Nwannediya Kanu Iheme after she passed away.

The news of her death was announced by her son, who tweeted her picture via his Twitter handle @papilokanu with the following message: ‎"R.I.P MAMA GOD saw Mum getting tired as she is getting old so He put His arm around her,whispered to her come to me."

Kanu Nwankwo is widely regarded as one of the best players the Super Eagles has ever featured and his mom, Mrs Kanu also known as Udonachi Oha, died at the ripe age of 82

Gareth Southgate Named Three Lions Manager



England have appointed interim boss Gareth Southgate as permanent manager after the 46-year old signed a four-year deal.

The former Middleboro and Aston Villa player stepped up from his role as England U21s manager to take over the Three Lions of England on interim basis following the sack of the previous manager Sam Allardyce in September.

As interim boss, he was in charge for four matches which resulted in two wins (2-0 vs. Malta and 3-0 vs. Scotland) and two draws (0-0 vs. Slovenia and 2-2 vs. Spain) and that proved enough for him to be named permanent manager with a reported annual wage of up to £2m a year.
