Gareth Southgate Named Three Lions Manager

England have appointed interim boss Gareth Southgate as permanent manager after the 46-year old signed a four-year deal.

The former Middleboro and Aston Villa player stepped up from his role as England U21s manager to take over the Three Lions of England on interim basis following the sack of the previous manager Sam Allardyce in September.

As interim boss, he was in charge for four matches which resulted in two wins (2-0 vs. Malta and 3-0 vs. Scotland) and two draws (0-0 vs. Slovenia and 2-2 vs. Spain) and that proved enough for him to be named permanent manager with a reported annual wage of up to £2m a year.
