‎‎I Was Not Shocked At My Manchester City Recall, Yaya Toure Insists

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has disclosed that he was shocked at his recall to the first team as he was mentally ready‎ despite being frozen out of the team for three months.

The 33-year old stated this after his two goals helped Manchester City to a 2-1 away win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park ‎after he had been a shock inclusion in Pep Guardiola's starting lineup for the game.

In his words, Yaya Toure said: "I was prepared mentally and I knew that one day my manager would need me.‎"

"I was delighted to play and I am very happy to be playing football." he further added.

The four-time African footballer of the Year was frozen out of the Manchester City team for three months as Guardiola stated that the Ivorian midfielder won't be picked unless his agent, Dmitri Seluk, apologises for comments made after his client was left out of the club's UEFA Champions League squad.

He said sorry at the start of November but few still expected the former Barcelona, AS Monaco and Olympiakos to feature so soon in Manchester City's first team.
