The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2016 Federation Cup final, Nasarawa United goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso, has stated his disappointment at his team's inability to win Nigeria's oldest cup competition.
Ayeleso was in inspired form as he kept eventual winners FC IfeanyiUbah at bay to force a goalless affair at fulltime before the big spenders eventually won 5-4 on penalties.
Speaking after the game, Ayeleso said: "The most important thing is the trophy and I'm disappointed we couldn't win at the end of the day."
"We came here with the intention of winning the trophy but you can't win in football all the time.
"Winning the MVP is good but is not bigger than the trophy." he concluded.
