Newly promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig are presently the toast of neutral fans around the world for their performances this season and this was further highlighted with the 3-2 comeback win over hosts Bayer Leverkusen that earned top spot for the team.
Kevin Kampl gave the home side an early lead in the 1st minute before an own goal from Julian Baumgartlinger levelled matters. Julian Brandt edged Leverkusen 2-1 ahead on the stroke of halftime before Turkish playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu missed a fantastic opportunity to extend his side's lead after the interval. The away side swiftly capitalised on that through goals from Emil Forsberg and a late winner from Willi Orban to secure the victory.
RB Leipzig, formed in 2009 with the backing of Red Bull, won four promotions in seven seasons to reach the top flight for the first time this season and the latest win makes it six successive league victories in a row while also becoming the first promoted team to go 11 games unbeaten at the start of the season.
