New York Building Residents Petition For The Removal Of US President-Elect Trump's Name‎

Residents of a New York building known as the 'Trump Place Apartment Complex' situated on Manhattan's Upper West Side started an online petition to have the landlord of the complexes, Equity Residential, change the name of the properties (that bears the name of United States President-elect Donald Trump) and the petition, which garnered almost 600 signatures, was subsequently granted.

As reported by CNBC, residents of the three apartment complexes received a notice on Tuesday from the general manager informing them that the signs will be removed.‎‎

This was further confirmed by a spokesperson told, who told CNBC that:

"We are currently in the process of changing the name of the buildings at 140, 160 and 180 Riverside to their street addresses."
"We are assuming a more neutral building identity that will appeal to all current and future residents."

The Trump signs have since been removed as requested by the online petition.
