Plane Carrying Players Of Brazilian Club‎ Chapecoense Crashes In Colombia



A plane carrying players of Brailian club Chapecoense FC has crashed on its way to Medellin international airport in Colombia, where they were scheduled to play the Copa Sudamerica finals‎ against Colombian side Atletico Nacional on Wednesday.

The unfortunate incident was confirmed on the Twitter account of Medellin international airport as it added that the aircraft carrying the players had departed from Bolivia.‎

It was further revealed by the Mayor of Medellin, Federico Gutierrez, who said that it is possible there are survivors. 

"It’s a tragedy of huge proportions.” Gutierrez told Blu Radio on his way to the crash site in a mountainous area outside the city adding that ambulances and rescuers were on their way. It is however not clear what caused the crash.‎

Donald Trump's Wife And Youngest Son Won't Move Into White House Until June 2017



US President elect Donald Trump has confirmed that he will move into the White House after his inauguration on January 20, 2017, without his wife, Melania and his youngest son, Barron Trump.


Melania and Barron will stay back at the Trump Tower until Barron finishes the school year in June 2017 at the Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School on the Upper West Side of New York City.

According to Trump, Melania is very close to Barron as she drives him to school everyday and that he will let him remain New York as they don't want to disrupt his studies.‎

Trump also said Melania will travel to Washington, D.C. when she is needed, with the President-elect also expected to spend much of his time at his gilded penthouse apartment in midtown Manhattan.‎

The latest incident to further highlight this involved a racist couple, who recently attempted to humiliate an Hispanic waitress serving them in a Barbeque joint. 

The waitress, an older woman originally from Mexico, who's been with the joint - Dallas BBQ in New York City (NYC) for 25 years, saw the message as pictured above on the credit card receipt of the couple, who spoke loudly and were very disrespectful towards immigrants.‎

Chijioke Obioha's Execution, Heartbreaking - Presidential Aide Abike Dabiri-Erewa



The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa has disclosed that the execution of a Nigerian man identified as Chijioke Obioha in Singapore on Friday for drug related offences was heartbreaking.

She said this in a statement made available by her Special Assistant on Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun in Abuja adding that the unfortunate incident was amidst repeated warnings to Nigerians to obey the laws of the land of their host countries.

She said: "While we regret the death of the Nigerian, we once again appeal to Nigerians to avoid crimes like drug trafficking with most countries especially in Asia declaring zero tolerance for drug trafficking."‎

She further stated her appeal to Nigerians to avoid drug peddling in their host countries as laws of countries, whether acceptable or not, will be difficult to influence.

The aforementioned Chijioke was caught in Singapore trafficking in hard drugs on December 30, 2008 before he was finally executed on Friday November 18, 2016.

New York Building Residents Petition For The Removal Of US President-Elect Trump's Name‎



Residents of a New York building known as the 'Trump Place Apartment Complex' situated on Manhattan's Upper West Side started an online petition to have the landlord of the complexes, Equity Residential, change the name of the properties (that bears the name of United States President-elect Donald Trump) and the petition, which garnered almost 600 signatures, was subsequently granted.

As reported by CNBC, residents of the three apartment complexes received a notice on Tuesday from the general manager informing them that the signs will be removed.‎‎

This was further confirmed by a spokesperson told, who told CNBC that:

"We are currently in the process of changing the name of the buildings at 140, 160 and 180 Riverside to their street addresses." 
"We are assuming a more neutral building identity that will appeal to all current and future residents."

The Trump signs have since been removed as requested by the online petition.

West Virginia Mayor Whaling Following Racist Michelle Obama Facebook Post



The Mayor of Clay in Virginia, Beverly Whaling, has resigned from her post and another county official is out in the wake of the criticisms they received over a racist Facebook post that compared US first lady Michelle Obama to an "ape in heels".

The county employee, Pamela Taylor, who was involved in the fiasco previously worked as director of the Clay County Development Corporation until his suspension recently.


After Pam wrote:
"It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House. I'm tired of seeing a (sic) Ape in heels."

Mayor Beverly Whaling commented on the post saying: "Just made my day Pam."‎

We Will Qualify For The World Cup, Algeria Captain Medjani Insists



Desert Foxes of Algeria captain Carl Medjani has revealed that his team will still qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia despite a disappointing return of 1 point in 2 games.

On his team's chances, the Leganes midfielder said: "We can still qualify for the World Cup."

"We need to win our remaining four matches and hope the Super Eagles lose a game before their final match in Algeria." he further stated.

Nigeria lead Group B on 6 points ahead of Cameroon (2 points), Zambia and Algeria (1 point each) in the race for Russia 2018.

Young Boy Undergoes Successful Surgery To Remove An Electric Plug Stuck To His Brain



A 2-year old boy identified as 'Chen Chen' has undergone successful surgery to remove a three contact electric ‎power plug stuck to his brain.

The boy was reportedly playing on his bed earlier this month before falling onto an electric power plug that got stuck to his brain‎ prompting him to be rushed to a nearby hospital in Guanzhou, where he was operated on for three hours. His condition is presently stable and he is expected to leave the hospital in a week or two.

Tragedy! South African Councillor Zoleka Shot Dead At Home ‎



South African councillor Thembinkosi Zoleka of the African National Congress (ANC) is dead after he was shot dead in his home at Philips Road around KwaZulu-Natal at about 11pm on Thursday night.


Zoleka, also known as Commando,was found dead in his bedroom following a single gunshot wound to the head.

Mdumiseni Ntuli, the spokesman for ANC, KwaZulu-Natal party, while confirming his death as follows: 
‘The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal is shocked and saddened by the brutal murder of one of its activist. Details regarding his murder are sketchy but he was attacked in his sleep when the assassin gained entrance to the house through the window. He was shot while his wife and children were in the dining room studying and the suspect used the same window to escape.’

Rapper Snoop Dogg Celebrates Decision To Legalise Marijuana in California‎



American Rapper Snoop Dogg has something to shout about after the state of California voted in favour of Proposition 64, which is a move that legalises recreational marijuana in the state.

Snoop Dogg shared his thoughts on Instagram as he posted a television image of the results accompanied by the caption: "I'll smoke to that".

California is United States of America's most populous state with a population of 39 million and it becomes the 8th state to vote to legalise the use of marijuana for medical or recreational uses.‎
